  • Provided human factors support for the design of space stations, lunar bases, interplanetary space craft, Navy airships and submersibles, Air Force rail cars, command and control centers, and monobaric underwater habitats.
  • Conducted large-scale field studies concerning DUI/DWI detection, field sobriety testing, aggressive driving, and the effects of traffic enforcement on safety and crime.
  • Developed the Mobile Officer's Assistant (MOA), a system of hand-held computers for use by traffic officers to generate electronic citations and make wireless queries of remote databases.
  • Trains law enforcement and national security personnel in the use of techniques for the analysis of criminal intelligence.
  • Contributed to the development of training for NASA astronauts concerning the behavioral issues associated with isolation and confinement.

  • Conducting a study to identify the tasks, skills, and knowledge necessary for an expedition to Mars.
  • Conducting a study to assess whether audio/video journals can be used to help monitor crew behavioral health during long-duration space missions.
  • Developing/supporting The Cultural Depot, an information-sharing system for use by military personnel.
  • Conducting a content analysis of personal journals that were maintained for this purpose by astronauts during long duration tours of duty onboard the International Space Station.
  • Conducted an evaluation of Data-Driven Approaches to Crime and Traffic Safety for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
  • Conducted a study of military firefights for DARPA to identify lessons to enhance training.
  • Developed custom versions of our Mobile Officer's Assistant (MOA) for court systems and law enforcement agencies.
